ABOUT FEES AND PAYMENTS

The journal REVISTA BRASILEIRA DE MEIO AMBIENTE charges a fee (APC - Article Processing Charges) of 480 reais (R$ 480.00) or 100 dollars (USD$100.00) after the article has been accepted. 

To encourage research in environments where data collection is difficult, whether remote or collected in Brazil, the Brazilian Journal of Environment will give priority to research conducted in the Northeast, North, and Central-West regions, especially in the most inland territories. Outside Brazil, priority will be given to Portuguese-speaking countries.

WHAT DOES AN APC (FEE) COVER IN THE JOURNAL?

Publishing and maintaining articles in constant online activity involves costs.

Thus, some of these costs are covered by Article Processing Charges (APCs).

In addition to permanent, immediate, and global access to the full text of the article, the APC covers:

• Editorial work: administrative support, content commissioning, journal development.
• Technical infrastructure and innovation: development, maintenance, and operation of the journal's online system and website.
• Dissemination and indexing: inclusion in indexing services.
• Journal and content marketing: initiatives to ensure readers and authors are aware of the work published in the journal.
• Cybersecurity, defense, and anti-malware measures on the website.
• DOI (Document Object Identifier) for articles.

Note that behind the submission and publication of an article is a complete and complex network of tasks, which involve temporal, physical, and financial costs.
