About Double-Blind Peer Review (Double Anonymous)
This journal operates a double-anonymous review process. All submissions will initially be assessed by the Editor for suitability for the journal.
Articles deemed suitable are typically sent to a minimum of two independent expert reviewers to assess the scientific quality of the paper.
The Editor is responsible for the final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of articles. The Editor's decision is final. Editors are not involved in decisions about articles they have authored themselves, articles written by family members or colleagues, or articles related to products or services in which the Editor has an interest.
Any submission is subject to all standard journal procedures, with peer review conducted independently of the relevant Editor and their research groups.
Additionally, RVBMA employs double-anonymized review, meaning that the identities of authors are concealed from reviewers and vice versa. For this reason, author information must not be submitted alongside the article.
During the peer review process, reviewers can securely access the manuscript via our online system while maintaining the anonymity of both the reviewers and the authors of the manuscript. This procedure is referred to as Double-Blind Peer Review, as there is no information about the authors during the document review process.
At the submission stage, authors may identify a limited number of scientists who should not review the article. These excluded scientists must be identified by name. Authors may also suggest potential reviewers; these suggestions are often helpful but are not always followed.
If no potential reviewers are suggested, we will use reviewers from our database and match the research with a scholar in the relevant field.
Reviewer recommendations may include the following outcomes: (Reject – Out of Scope – Recommend for Another Journal – Revisions Required – Accept).
