Recommendations on Non-Influence of Metrics

The editor should not attempt to influence the ranking of the journal by artificially inflating any metric associated with it.

In particular, the editor should not require that references to the journal (or any other journal) be included unless for genuine academic reasons. Authors should not be compelled to include references to the editor's own articles or to products and services in which the editor has a personal interest.
