Originality and Source Recognition

Authors must ensure that they have written entirely original works and, if they have used the work and/or words of others, that this has been properly cited or referenced and permission obtained when necessary.

Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have influenced the reported work and provide the appropriate context for the work within the broader academic record. Information obtained privately, such as in conversation, correspondence, or discussion with third parties, must not be used or reported without explicit written permission from the source.

Plagiarism takes many forms, from claiming another person's paper as one's own, to copying or paraphrasing substantial parts of another's work (without attribution), to claiming research results conducted by others. Plagiarism in all its forms constitutes unethical behavior and is unacceptable.
