Suspected Plagiarism

What the journal will do if academic plagiarism is suspected in submitted works.

Suspected plagiarism in a submitted manuscript:

  1. A reviewer reports irregularities related to potential plagiarism.

  2. Thank the reviewer and inform them that an investigation will be conducted. Editors will investigate and gather complete documentary evidence if not already provided.

  3. Verify whether the irregularities raised by the reviewer(s) are substantiated:

3.1) If no irregularities are found:
3.1.1) Inform the reviewers that no irregularities exist.

3.2) If minor irregularities are found:
3.2.1) Notify the author about the irregularities and request that they remove or modify the plagiarized content.
3.2.2) Inform the reviewer and continue the evaluation process (provided the authors modify the content).

3.3) If significant irregularities are found:
3.3.1) Notify the author of the identified plagiarism.
3.3.2) Reject the manuscript.
