The expansion of wind energy in the northeastern Brazilian semiarid region has intensified the need for studies addressing its effects on biodiversity, especially in the Caatinga, an exclusively Brazilian biome with high bird diversity. This study aimed to characterize the composition, richness, and occurrence of bird species associated with a wind farm, located in Sobradinho, Bahia. Field surveys were conducted between September 2023 and March 2026, totaling 11 quarterly campaigns and 240 hours of sampling effort. The Mackinnon listing method was applied, with records obtained through visual and auditory contacts. A total of 94 species distributed across 33 families were recorded, with Tyrannidae, Thraupidae, and Columbidae being the most representative. Regarding habitat use, 46.23% of the species were classified as independent of forest environments, 40.86% as semi-dependent, and 12.90% as dependent. Richness estimators indicated the potential occurrence of additional species in the area. Sixteen taxa endemic to the Caatinga were identified, including Penelope jacucaca, a species classified as vulnerable to extinction. Migratory species and soaring birds potentially susceptible to collisions with wind turbines were also recorded. The low similarity between dry and rainy seasons demonstrated the influence of seasonality on bird community composition. The results highlight the ecological relevance of the studied area and indicate the need for continued avifauna monitoring to support conservation measures and mitigation of environmental impacts associated with wind energy projects.
